Vladimir Putin will embark on a one-day visit to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia this week, the Kremlin announced on Tuesday, in a rare foreign trip for the Russian president since the February 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
“President Putin will go on a working visit to the UAE and Saudi Arabia tomorrow,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters in Moscow.
Putin will meet with his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi, and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh, Peskov said, adding that talks in both meetings will focus on bilateral cooperation and the latest regional and international developments, including the Israel-Hamas war.
Issues related to the global oil market and oil cuts recently announced by OPEC+ will also be on the agenda, he added.
